A PDF, a CAD file, a photo of a paper drawing, or a clear sketch with dimensions written on it. Anything we can read the shape and sizes from.
We read it and come back with questions
Most drawings show the geometry and leave out the electrical side. We ask about power, voltage, sheath material, termination and what the element will be working in.
You get a quote and a build specification
The quote comes with a written summary of what we understood, so you can check the specification before anything is made rather than after.
You confirm, we build
Once you approve the specification and the price, it goes into production to the agreed drawing.
Test and delivery
Each element is checked for resistance and insulation resistance before it leaves, and delivered with its specification.

What the drawing decides and what it usually does not
A mechanical drawing settles the geometry: overall length, heated length, diameter, the shape of any bends, thread sizes, flange dimensions and where the leads come out. That is exactly the part that is hardest to describe in words, which is why a drawing is the fastest way to a correct quote.
What a drawing usually leaves out is everything electrical and everything about the environment: the power in watts, the working voltage, the sheath material, the termination type and what medium the element will sit in. Those decide whether the element lasts, so they are the questions that come back to you.
Mark both lengths
The single most common ambiguity on a drawing is length. Overall length includes the cold ends — the sections with no resistance wire, which stay cool — while heated length is only the part that makes heat.
The difference matters twice. It decides whether the element fits the machine, and it decides the watt density, which is what decides how long the element lives. If your drawing shows only one length, say which one it is.
Bends have a minimum radius
On a formed element, the minimum bend radius is usually around twice the sheath diameter. A tighter bend thins and disturbs the compacted magnesium oxide insulation inside the tube, and that spot becomes a hot spot. Hot spots are where the next failure happens.
If a drawing calls for a tighter bend than the sheath allows, we will say so and suggest either a larger radius or a smaller sheath diameter.
Tell us the medium, even though it is not on the drawing
Whether the element will sit in water, oil, air or a metal block changes the safe watt density by a factor of five or more. The same drawing, the same wattage, is a sound design in water and a short-lived one in oil.
So when you send the drawing, add a line about what the element heats and how hot it needs to get. It is the cheapest thing you can do to make the finished element last.
The written specification is there to be checked
Before anything is made, you get back a plain summary of what we understood from the drawing and the conversation — dimensions, power, voltage, material, termination, quantity. Read it properly. A misunderstanding caught at that stage costs nothing; the same misunderstanding caught after production costs a batch.
Common Questions
Does it have to be a proper CAD drawing?
No. A photo of a hand sketch with the dimensions written on it is enough, as long as the shape and the sizes are clear. What matters is that we can see the geometry and read the numbers.
What if my drawing does not show the electrical details?
That is normal, and we ask. Power, voltage, sheath material, termination and the working medium are the details that decide the build and they are usually missing from a mechanical drawing.
Can you build from the drawing of a competitor's element?
We build to dimensions and a specification. If you have a drawing of an element that fits your machine, that is exactly the information needed.
What is the difference between overall length and heated length?
Overall length includes the cold ends, the sections at each end with no resistance wire. Heated length is the part that actually makes heat, and it is the figure used to work out watt density. Mark both if you can.
Will you tell me if the drawing asks for something that will not last?
Yes. If the watt density is too high for the medium, or the sheath material is wrong for it, we say so before quoting rather than building something that fails early.
How long does it take?
The lead time depends on the specification and the quantity, and it is given with the quote.
